Responsible supplier management in practice

At Nybo Workwear, we work systematically with responsible supplier management as a central part of our ESG efforts. Our approach is based on ongoing due diligence, close dialogue, and clear requirements – with the aim of ensuring responsible conditions throughout our entire value chain.

In recent years, we have significantly strengthened our processes, so that they now meet some of the most comprehensive standards in the industry. This is supported, among other things, by our work with certification schemes such as Grüner Knopf.

A structured and data-driven approach
The foundation of our supplier management is the systematic collection and use of data.

Each year, we collect detailed information from our suppliers across key ESG areas. This includes, among other things, climate and environmental impact, resource consumption, working conditions, certifications, and internal policies.

This data is compiled in a structured database, providing us with a solid foundation for:

  • Ongoing dialogue with suppliers
  • Tracking developments over time
  • Identifying risks and areas for improvement

In this way, we do not only work with control, but with continuous improvement in collaboration with our suppliers.

Close dialogue and physical presence
We prioritize close and direct relationships with our suppliers.

Therefore, we regularly visit all production suppliers to ensure that our requirements are implemented in practice. These visits allow us to:

  • Review production facilities
  • Validate the implementation of ESG initiatives
  • Engage in constructive dialogue on improvements

In addition, we hold regular meetings with our suppliers’ ESG representatives, where we follow up on developments, discuss new requirements, and address relevant legislation.

Clear requirements and documented follow-up
We set clear requirements for our suppliers – and follow up systematically.

All production facilities must be certified according to recognized standards such as OEKO-TEX® STeP, SA8000, or amfori BSCI at a high level. These certifications serve as an important supplement to our own efforts and contribute to a consistent and verifiable approach.

After each audit, we review the reports in detail. If areas for improvement are identified, we work together with the supplier on concrete action plans, which are followed up until the next audit.

Shared commitment through the Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct forms the foundation for collaboration with all suppliers.

It outlines our requirements regarding social and environmental conditions – including working conditions, rights, and responsible production. All suppliers have signed this agreement, ensuring a shared understanding of expectations and standards.

A continuous effort for improvement
For us, supplier management is not a static control exercise, but an ongoing process.

Through data, dialogue, and clear requirements, we work systematically to:

  • Reduce risks in the value chain
  • Strengthen responsible production conditions
  • Support supplier development

This approach is an important part of our contribution to a more responsible and sustainable textile industry – and a foundation for the collaboration we engage in with our customers.
